House Part Two

Hey, I'm on for the day!
Hey how are ya?
no I ment it like I'm here for right now ya know.
Holly snap!!! That is a lot of People.  well good thing you bought a bigger house;)
hahaha nice why not! So other than your crazy week how is everything going?

Holly cow it sounds like you have just had the week of your life... I am so sorry that is no fun:(  I'm not sure what to say about the whole Andy thing.  That is a tough situation that you are having to go through and you definitely in a hard spot.  My heart goes out to you mom I know how hard that must be and how much stress this stuff is causing you.  I am so sorry that you are going through this.  Just remember that often times we have to go through challenges and trials for a reason.  The right things are usually the hard things.  Just take a deep breath and go to the temple.  That is way awesome that Candace is getting her endowment that is way sweet.  General Conference was way awesome! There is nothing better than being able to listen to the prophets voice it was such a great experience.  There were so many great talks.  What was your favorite?  I think that my favorite would have to be all the talks that were on the Sacrament.  The sacrament is a very interesting topic to study.
This morning I had a great study.  It was on the spiritual significance of a prophet.  I have never realized how important the prophet is in our eternal Salvation.  I read a story about Wilford Woodruff “I will refer to certain meeting attended in the town of Kirtland in my early days. At that meeting some remarks were made that have been made here today, with regard to the living prophets and with regard to the written word of God. The same principle was presented, although not as extensively as it has been here, when leading man in the Church got up and talked upon the subject, and said: ‘You have got the word of God before you here in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine andCovenants; you have the written word of God, and you who give revelations should give revelations according to those books, as what is written in those books is the word of God. We should confine ourselves to them.’
“When he concluded, Brother Joseph turned to Brother Brigham Youngand said, ‘Brother Brigham want you to go to the podium and tell usyour views with regard to the living oracles and the written word of God.’Brother Brigham took the stand, and he took the Bible, and laid it down;he took the Book of Mormon, and laid it down; and he took the Book ofDoctrine and Covenants, and laid it down before him, and he said: ‘Thereis the written word of God to us, concerning the work of God from thebeginning of the world, almost, to our day. And now,’ said he, ‘whencompared with the living oracles those books are nothing to me; thosebooks do not convey the word of God direct to us now, as do the words ofProphet or man bearing the Holy Priesthood in our day andgeneration. would rather have the living oracles than all the writing inthe books.’ That was the course he pursued. When he was through,Brother Joseph said to the congregation; ‘Brother Brigham has told youthe word of the Lord, and he has told you the truth.  That story changed my out look on a prophet.  This week we were able to see the baptism of Hailey Jensen it was amazing.  She was so ready to be baptized and has the strongest testimony that I have ever heard.  It was amazing to be able to hear her testimony.  Another great thing that happened this week was I was able to read the entire Book of Mormon is less than a week.  It was the greatest thing to read it that fast.  You really begin to see all the different themes and things that we must look out for in these last days.  I know that this church is true and I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know with all my heart that my Savior is with me everyday always helping me and strengthening me today.  I know with all my heart that he lives!  I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God and that he leads and guides this church to day!  I know all these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I love you so much and thank you so much for all that you do for me.  I thank you for your prayers and all the strength that you give me.  There's one thing that I just wanted to ask you about.  Having been serving in a YSA ward on a college campus I get asked the question a lot of what I want to do when I go back pertaining to school.   Now I know that I shouldn't be worried about this but I just wanted to ask you.  What do you think I should do for my career or where do you think I should go to school?  I just want your input I know that parents can receive guidance for their children.  Will I hope that you have a great week and I love you remember to just take a breath.  With all my love from Virginia.

General Conference

How are you? Are you doing well?
I haven't read it yet.... Sorry one sec!
Ok I just read it.  That is pretty interesting it sounds pretty crazy.  Just breath!!! All will be ok.
PERFECT!  Other than all that how is everything else going?
Um we are going to less-actives house for lunch and then we got dinner and then we have three lessons to finish out the night.
Yes I know what you are taking about.  This apollo character sounds like a lot of Fun!
doing great.  I wrote about in my letter.  Hailey is getting baptized next week and then Scarlette is getting baptized in november because she wants to do it back home.
yes kinda.  Members in a YSA word don't like making dinner.  So they just take us out to eat.  Tonight we are going to noodles and Company.
probably you should feed them anything.  usually there diet is noodles and rice so nothing like that.

I am so excited for General Conference this week!!! It is going to be sweet!!!  There is by far nothing greater than to be able to listen to a prophets voice.  I am so excited.  Another great thing that is happening this week is that as a mission we are reading the Book of Mormon.  The entire thing in a week!!! Now you know me reading just is not my thing but surprisingly I am actually really enjoying it.  Probably the funniest thing that I thought of this morning was when I was in school and I never wanted to read and you and Dad would say, "You can't do anything in this world with out reading."  I would always say, "O yeah right."  But now look all I do is read all day to people about the words of God.  I just thought that was a funny thought.  Another great thing that will be happening at the end of this week will be Hailey Jensen's baptism.  I don't know if I ever told you about her.  Three weeks ago she came to church because she had met some missionaries on the grounds of the College.  She has a boyfriend that is on a mission and she always wondered what he believed in and why he believed in it so much.  As we were able to teach her after church that first sunday we found out that she had already read the Book of Mormon and already knew that it was true.  I know with all my heart that Heavenly Father prepared Hailey to receive the Gospel.  Over the past couple of weeks Hailey has now finished all the standard work (Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, Old and New Testament) except for the new testament.  She girl is sweet she is so ready to be baptized.  Another great miracle that we have had this week is another young lady by the name of Scarlette. She has a less-active mom and she is trying to figure out if this is the right church for her. As we have been teaching her Scarlette comes to the lessons with list of questions. We usually have lessons planned and sure enough the lesson that we have planned play right into her questions. The even better part is that as we explain to her the doctrine of the question and then expound more we then end up answering more of her questions.  It is just so amazing to be able to do the work of the Lord I love this work with all my heart!!!  The work is going great here in Cville.  It is such a blessing to be able to build up the kingdom of God here on this earth there is nothing greater.  I love you so much and thank you for all that you are doing and have done for me.  You mean the world to me.
I've had some really interesting thoughts this week about the gospel of Jesus Christ and what the purpose of this life is.  As I have been reading the Book of Mormon the thought that has come to me is that this whole life is all about learning to choose right from wrong.  It's learning about how to follow the promptings of the spirit.  As we do this we are then keeping the commandments of God and can then prosper in the land.   I know that as we learn to listen to the spirit that we will become changed and that we will no longer desire the things of the world but we will desire the things of God.  This is the whole purpose of life.   We must sacrifice our own self centered natural man and do the things of God. (Mosiah 3:19) I love my Savior with all my heart.  I know that this church is true and I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that he is constantly watching over me.  I love this gospel and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  With all my Love from Virginia.

um yeah for the most part.  It's filling and cheap.  Then you put some chicken with it and it is prime!!!!
O of course!  I usually try to eat an apple a day!  Something like an apple a day keeps the doctor away.  Then we have carrots and bananas!!!  Don't worry I eat health!
Well I better get going.  I hope that all is well and I hope that you have a great week.  You will have to tell me what's your favorite conference talk.  Remember go into conference with questions and the Lord will answer them.  By the way how was the womans general meeting???  I love you and hope that all is well!  With all my love from Virginia.

ONE LAST THING

1.YES
2.Just a card
3.NO-Is that suppose to be a hint?

This week has been such a great blessing so many great things are happening here in the Cville YSA ward. I love serving here there is no better area. It has just been such a blessing. Some great miracles that have occurred this week is just striving to find with faith. These last couple of weeks we have been doing all we can to find who the Lord has prepared. We have seen so many people eager to learn about the church and to make the covenant of baptism. One of them is Scarlette she is an amazing woman. She has family that is mormon and has always wondered about the beliefs. She has never been able to really find a religion that fits her understanding. As we have been able to teach her it has been amazing to see how much the Lord has taught her because of her desire to find out the truth. It is absolutely amazing! She asks Golden question and is always trying to find out the truth. Another great daughter of our Heavenly Father is Hailey. She is amazing. She is now reading the Doctrine and Covenants and is just soaking in as much knowledge as she can. It is so great to see the desires of the Lords children. My testimony has definitely grown these last couple of weeks of the Love that our Savior has for us and how much he wants us to find truth and happiness in our life. He is constantly trying to reach out to us and show us the right path it's just are we willing to take it. As I have been able to study sacrifice this last week I have seen how important the living this law is to our salvation. If we don't give Him all in the end He can't give us all. I know that my Savior lives and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know with all my heart that he is always watching over us wanting us to find the truth and to follow him. I know that this is His church and that His gospel is taught here. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Wasn't able to write a lot because we had a busy P-day with meetings again.  Know that I love you have a great week.!

With all my love from Virginia.

Khalil

Hello!  This week has been such a great week!  Full of so much fun and miracles here in the C'ville area.  I love this work so much it is such a blessing to be able to be in the service of God!  That's funny about that birthday message on Facebook that was a girl in my High School Astronomy class.  To be completely honest I payed attention in that class.  Anyway how is everything going with you?  How was your week?  We had a lot of miracles this week.  One was a very humbling experience for me.  We met this guy named Khalil.  He is a very nice guy.  I love him to death.  He called us one day and said that he wanted to meet some new friends and that he wanted to come to church.  We got in touch with him and met him at the church.  I'm not sure how to describe him without seeming rude.  He is a little slow of speech and has some handicaps, he's kind of like Radio...  I don't think though that I have ever felt the love for someone like I have Khalil.  He is truly a child of our Father in Heaven.  Our Heavenly Father wants us to help him find happiness and peace in this life.  It was humbling for me simply because it made me realize how much our Heavenly Father loves us no matter what and how much he wants us to find peace and joy in this life.  I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves him as well.  Khalil is just an amazing person.  Another really cool miracle happened yesterday at church.  Her name is Hailey.  She came to church yesterday because she saw the Mandarin missionaries on campus and her boy friend was going on a mission. After church we sat down and started to talk with her. We talked with her about her family and what her religious beliefs were. She didn't really have any but her boy friend was such a great example of dedicated service that she wanted to know why. Before she came of school she read the Book of Mormon in a couple of days and gained a knowledge of Jesus Christ as the Savior and redeemer of the word and she new that it was true. The best part is she wanted to know what the next step was! Of course by now my mind is blown by how much our Heavenly Father knows and loves his children.
My studies recently have been on the agency of man and cleansing the inner vessel.  This is a very interesting concept about how our Savior Jesus Christ works with his children.  He never forces us to do anything but he always entices us to be better to clean ourselves a little more.  The world often times tries to make us think that we have to work from the outside in and change our outside character before we can ever get close to even being close to changing our character.  The Lord always in scriptures wants people to change from the inside out.  He is constantly pleading for us to write things on our heart and to cleanse the inner vessel. (Alma 60:23-24; Proverbs 3:3)  I've been thinking about this truth of writing things on our heart.  I think that this is why all the great Book of Mormon heroes were so great, especially Captain Moroni.  In Alma 46 were he creates the title of liberty he takes his covenants and inscribes them on his heart and he decides that he would rather die for his covenants that live and break them.  I invite us all to think about where we are on the covenant path.  Are we preparing weekly for the Sacrament? Are we attending the temple regularly?  How is our Relationship with our Savior and with our fellow man?  I know that if we truly want to cleanse the inner vessel we've got to do person self checks.  I know that if we take a moment of our day to do a self check in humble prayer to our Heavenly Father that true cleansing will take place and we will lay hold of the Atonement of Christ and that will be sweeter than we have ever before tasted.  I know that my Savior lives and that he is eager to clean out our closets if we will let him.  I know with all my heart the Book of Mormon is the word of God and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Gods church here on this earth.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you and hope you have a great week!  With all my love from Virginia.

I'm not sure what to do on the house.  I would say that try to go with the counter and just wait it out.
I did get my package by the way.  It was great thank you so much!!!  The pajamas are probably my favorite thing. They are the best!!!  I'm going to make my cake soon we've gotta find vegetable oil...  But yes I had a great b-day we went to a place called boylan Heights.  It's a burger place here in C'ville that's way good!!!
Wait for to see if they take it but then if not I would say just sell it to them for the price they want.  You've gotta get that thing off your hands before you loose it all.
Well I gotta get going.  It was great talking to you!  Have a great week.  I love you and hope that you have a great week!!! much love from Virginia!!!!!
No just a guesser.  that's hopes to maybe be right.

Happy Birthday!

hey I'm on.  What about you?
sweet how are you?  I only got the labor day part.
I don't have that one.....

This week was crazy!!! It was filled with a whole lot of meetings...  We had to drive down to Richmond Tuesday we had just a zl meeting and then stayed the night at the mission home to then wake up and go to another meeting on wednesday and then we had to have a zone meeting on friday.  It was crazy but a lot of fun.  Probably on of the craziest things that I did this week was I had to give a training at the meeting with all the ZL's that was super scary... I don't think I've ever been so nervous in my whole life.  All of these missionaries are spiritual giants and the Lord wanted me to speak to them.  The Lord definitely put his words in my mouth I know that for a fact.  I love my Savior Jesus Christ with all my heart.  There is no doubt in my mind that he is always with me and always there for me.  There are so many times on my mission where I have no idea what to say, do, or where to go and the Lord simply takes me by the hand and leads me to those words or place that need me.  It is such a blessing to be in the service of God.  There is no feeling that is better than this it is absolutely amazing!!!  It sounds like you all had a really fun weekend.  It is always so great to be able to hear from you and to feel of your love for the Savior and the support that you give me.  Thank you so much for the prayers in my behalf it really does mean a lot and those prayers do not go unnoticed.  I love you so much.  It's crazy here in Cville right now.  I feel like I'm in Sodom and Gamora with all the sin that occurs with the college students.  That just means that the Gospel is exactly what they need!!!  We are teaching this muslim that doesn't really have a knowledge of Christianity at all.  It was interesting to explain to him how important Jesus Christ is and was.  He said something very profound, he said,"So if Jesus Christ hadn't come to this earth and died for us we would be doomed."  I know that Jesus Christ is the center point of this plan if he hand not come and done what he did we could not do anything.  Everything is through Him.  I love my Savior with all my heart.  Today my studies were on how we can cleanse the inner vessel.  One of the most powerful scriptures that I found was Rom 12:1-3.  I thought this was interesting that we must sacrifice our lives for Him.  I know that when we do this this is the only surrender that is a victory.  The gospel is just so great and powerful it is truly amazing!!!!!  I love you so much and hope that you have a great day!  I hope that you have a great B-day this week and that you do something fun for it.  I love you and pray for you!  With all my love from Virginia.

Happy Labor Day!

Hey I'm on I know it's early but we have a meeting down in Richmond today.  No P-day! YAY!
Hello! This week has been great and this next week will even be crazier.  We have so many meetings that we have to go to but it is going to be awesome.  The work here in Cville is going great.  It is such a blessing to be able to talk with students and help them see how much more there is to life and what a great message we have to share with them.  We are seeing a lot of success and a lot of blessings.  A great miracle happened yesterday. We were going about our day and no appointment was working out everything was just going weird according to our eyes. I know that the Lord had a plan though. All of out Prime proselyting appointments fell through so we thought what would be a better thing to do than to tract and find students that needed a break from studies. As we went to this one dorm no one was answering. As we were walking away from this one door we heard it open and instantly turned around. A young lady walked out and we began talking to her. After a while we came to find out that she didn't really know if God was there. I believe that the Lord had this in plan the entire time. He needed his servants to bear pure testimony of who God was and how much they loved him after a long day. It was amazing to see how we were able to answer her questions and bring her closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he lives and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know that he has a plan and if we will just continue to work and do the things he has asked us to do miracles will happen. It is such a blessing to be in the service of God and our fellowman.
There are so many great things occurring.  Lately my studies have been really focused on gaining a testimony of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I think it's amazing how much power comes from a knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ.  This power has carried nations through hard times it's been able to strengthen and comfort missionaries that are in the Book of Mormon that end up dying for there belief.  That is so amazing to me.  As we come to a true knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I know that we will find strength beyond our own and that we will truly be blessed beyond our understand.  This life is all about coming to know the only true and living God.  This is stated so clearly is John 17:3.  We truly receive eternal life as we come to know our Savior.  How?  Is it through our Covenants?  Is it through our Studies? Is it just going through our Dailey lives and looking for the had of God in our life?  I invite you to find answers to these questions and find ways that you can come to know our Savior Jesus Christ.  I know that this church is true and I know that my Savior Jesus christ live and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know that he is constantly watching over us and protecting us in all that we do.  I love my Savior with all my heart and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.  I love you so much and hope that you have a great week.  I hope school is going amazing.  I think about you and pray about you.  With all my love form Virginia.

Shoes

I'm on
What up?  So would it be easier if I just went and bought some shoes so that you wouldn't have to pay shipping to our house and then out to here?
hmmm ok well.  I think just because it might be cheaper you can just send them out. but transfers are in two weeks so make sure they will get here before then.  You never know I might get moved....

This week was a great week.  I loved it so much!!!  We were able to see so many great blessings.  There is nothing better than being a missionary in the work of God.  I love it so much.  To let you know a little bit about the amazing miracles that you experience every day on a mission.  I will tell you about one that happened yesterday at church.  Yesterday we were at church and we just finished our ward council meeting.  We were walking out and going to put down our stuff so we could talk to ward members and confirm rides for our investigators when we hear this. "I don't know why I'm here.  I was driving going to do some errands in Charlottesville and the next thing I know I am in this Church parking lot."  Yeah okay... can you say blessing from God?  So my companion and I start talking to this guy.  Apparently he had been Hawaii for 4 years were he had gone and visited the temple and thought that was the most amazing thing in the world.  Just a little while ago he had hit rock bottom.  He wasn't sure what to do or where to go.  He felt alone and felt that he did really have a place in this world.  He moved back to Charlottesville to live with his family.  So we ended up getting him a Bible and a Book of Mormon so that he can follow along during church.  He absolutely loved church and loved learning about Jesus Christ.  We have an appointment with him tonight at 8.  It is going to be amazing.  I know that our Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.   I know that as we are obedient and trying to do our best that our Heavenly Father will open up the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings upon us.  I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  He loves all of Gods children.  Another very humbling thing that occurred this week was we have been visiting this less-active.  He served in the military for three years and then got married.  After three years of being married he got a divorce.  He now lives here in C'ville.  When ever the we go over to his home and teach him our Heavenly Fathers love is so strong.  Probably the strongest that I have ever felt in my life.  It is amazing to feel the love of our Heavenly Father for his Children.  I know that it's real it's there.  I can now say with absolute believe and knowledge that I know that God loves his Children.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that my Savior loves me.
This weeks study's have been great.  We had the opportunity to hear from a General Authority this week.  There were many things that I learned one of the things that I think is crazy is that I have been really trying to focus on how to learn the language of the Holy Ghost and then you go and say, "Be really safe.  Check and recheck.  Listen to any still small voice promptings.".....  I know that that's there for a reason and that the Lord it trying to teach me something.  The things that I have learned so far about the spirit is found first in 2 Nephi 32:3 & 2 Nephi 31:3.  The main thing is that the spirit speaks the words of Christ.  We must know the words of Christ no matter what.  We need to feast upon those things like it is life or death.  The next thing is that the spirit will only bring light to our understanding, meaning that you can not receive a spiritual witness until you have done all you can to learn about that subject or action that you are planning to make.  This is not a sit back and relax gospel this is a go and do gospel.  I love the mormon message, "Patterns of light"  It helps us understand that we must act we must work if we want more light.  I know that these things are true and I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I love you and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
By the way that is way awesome that you were able to go to that concert.  I may be a little jealous but missionary work is much better..... just saying.  hahaha School started here at UVA.  It's crazy to teach College kids.  They are super smart and know a lot of the Bible.  It will be great though.  The UVA campus is sweet it's so old looking.  Well I hope that you have a great week and that everything goes well.  Know that I love you with all my heart.  Thank you for all that you do for me.  With all my love to you from Virginia.
