New Car

I got it.  Ask dad if he knows a tom adams.  that served a mission in Arizona in the 70's am I related to him?
I don't know.  Our ward mission leader served with him. He lived in Orem Utah

Well this week has been such a great week.  We had a snow storm that came through on tuesday that wasn't all that bad.  What you have to understand is people in Virginia anytime they even here the word snow they shut down all the schools, everyone goes to the grocery store and stocks up, then they all bunker down like it's World War III.  So what do the missionaries do while everyone is panicing.  You guessed it we go knocking on their doors and teach them about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and bring them the happiness of the Restored Gospel.  My Companion and the other missionaries that I live with thought I was crazy for going and working in the snow.  I love this work and will never let a little snow or a strom get in my path to bringing people the happiness of the Gospel.  Thank you so much for the blanket.  It is amazing.  I sleep with it every night.  It is super warm and comfy.  I am not in need of any boots.  I am totally fine it's really not that bad.  Thank you though for offering to send them out to me.  The work in Piedmont is going great.  We have an investigator named Ryan that I think that I have told you about.  He is such an amazing guy.  Yesterday we met with him and taught him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He was very touched by the power of the Atonement and that we can be forgiven of our sins and be made clean.  At the end of the lesson we invited him to pray and he prayed.  It was the most amazing prayer that I have ever heard anyone say.  IT was so amazing!!!  The spirit was so strong. He hasen't decided on a day that he wants to be baptized but he is slowly being prepared by our Heavenly Father to make that covenant with our Heavenly Father.  We are also teaching a guy named Brian Stetcher.  He is a Catholic to the core.  I was wondering if Devin would be willing to send me out Bill Murries Testimony.  He is such an amazing guy.  He will one day be a very powerful deciple of Jesus Christ and great member of the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter day Saints.  It's such a blessing to be involved in serving so many people in this area.
So this week has been a lot of reflecting for me.  I have had moments were I have been able to look on the Saviors life and his Atonemet and gain a greater appriciation for it.  It is such a blessing to be able to see the power of the Atonement and come to a better understanding of it.  I love it.  I invite you guys this week to study the Atonement.  Just try to understand how much the Savior Loves us and what he is trying to tell us all though out the Scirptures.  There is one message that rings true through my mind.  The Savior is simply Saying, "Come, Come follow me."  That's all he wants us to do.  Nothing else.  We make things to complicated in the church with all of our activities and outings but all we really need to worry about is following our Savior Jesus Christ.  This week find a way to make the Atonement part of your life.  I know that as you do this you will find so much more gratitude in your life.  You will also be able to find ways to improve and find ways to loves others more.  I know that our Savior Jesus Christ loves each and everyone of us.  He knows the way to true happiness and that is why he calls to us and asks us to come and follow him.  I know that this church is true.  I know that my Savior lives.  I love him with all of my heart.  I know I am doing the work of the Lord and that this is more that just a two year mission but a mission that I will do for all of eternity.  There is nothing greater than the gospel.  I love you all and hope you all have a great week.  I thank you for everything that you have done for me in helping me stay confident and know that my Savior Loves me.  I love you and hope you have a great week.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  With Lots of love and hugs and kisses From Virginia.

Movin on Up

Holycow!  You had one crazy week.  I am so sorry to hear all of those things that happened to you.  You be in my prayers more than ever this week.  If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know and I will be happy to do it.  I love you and hope that you are doing ok.  How fast were you going.  I love you mom be safe!  Well this week has been great on the mission.  My companion and I have been working hard trying to build up this area.  It's been such a blessing to see the hand of the Lord in Culpeper Virginia.  I love doing missionary work it is such a blessing.  We have had so many experiences this week were we will be tracting all day just knocking doors.  I've knocked so many doors my nuckles are starting to hurt.  Anyway,  We tract all day and we find some people but most people arn't really interested in learning more.  Then when we are about to go in and it's the last house we always find someone that is interested in learning the gospel.  Of of them happened last night.  We were tracting and we knocked on an intire neighboorhood and everyone had turned us away.  We came to the last door and a guy answered it.  We started to talk to him and come to find out he use to be a member.  He was very excited to see us and wanted us to come back.  It was such a blessing to find that needle in the heigh stack.  I love missionary work.  I don't have a lot of time this week to write.  In closing I would just like to bare my testimony that I know that this chruch is true.  I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves us.  Mom I know that he was watching over you.  It may seem like you had a bad week but he loves you.  Please never forget how much our Savior Loves you.  One of my favorite Scriptures is found in John 4:7-9 God is love that is the most important attribute that we can have I know it is.  Love is such a sacred thing.  I invite you guys this week to look as our Savior Jesus Christ does not on outward appearance but rather on the heart.  I have been trying to do this this week and it has been such a blessing to me.  I know that my Redeemer lives and that I can do all things through him I know that he is always by our side no matter what. Thank you for all of the prayers and thank you for the support that I recieve every week.  I love you all and hope that you have a great week.  I know that all these things are true and I love my Savior.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  Have a great week.  Take care of yourself I love you.  With lots of loves hugs and kisses from Virginia.

Happy New Year

I'm on I only have an hour in this new library.
how ya doin?
Of courst he loved them.  We only wore our scarfs Christmas day no coats or anything it was cold but exciting!
no I love them.  by the way my new address is 227 E Piedmont Street Culpeper VA, 22701.  if you were wondering...:)

Well I know where I am now... Kinda... I got transfered to an area by the name of Piedmont Verginia.  It's crazy the area I'm in is just a bunch of farm towns.  We cover three counties out here.  I feel like I am in the middle of no were it's a crazy feeling.  Another thing that is really cool is that up here you feel like you are in England.  Or atleast what I think would feel that way.  Every morning we wake up to a rooster that is just screaming his lungs out.  It's great.  The first day that I got here it was super cold only about 32 degrees and snowing.  Crazy right!  It was so crazy I hadn't seen snow in forever so I was freaking out!  Man it's awesome though.  My new companions name is Elder Hill.  He is fresh from the MTC again.  It's so great to be able to train two times in a row.  It's a blessing from the Lord that I am so greatful for I love it! I will have to take some pictures this week of the town and send it to you.  The down town area reminds me of the movie Hautchie.  I'm almost positive that they filmed the movie here.  I'm sorry that new years wasn't to good for you.  It's such a blessing to just be able to have a new opportunity to better ourselves and look at ways that we can become closer to Christ.  That's funny that you would ask me that question.  I have been studying in my personaly studies how I can be a better leader.  President Wilson and the Lord have given me an even greater blessing of being able to be a district leader.  I have wondered how I can lead my district in righteousness but in a loving way.  I invite you to go and read D&C 121:41-46.  Now I know that this is talking about the priesthood but the attributes and the ideas that the lord gives us here can be applied to any calling in life, most importantly mother and father hood.  The scriptures tell us everything as long as we are willing to open up out minds and listen to them.  The Lord wants to bless us I know that he does.  I know that he lives with all of my heart.  I know this because when ever I pray I feel his love, peace and comfort come over me.  I wish that I could just put into words how much I love being out here on a mission.  You are constantly given new challenges and new things that you have to learn how to deal with.  Now I couldn't do this by myself at all I know that my Savior has been here always to help and strengthen me.  There is no way that I could serve a mission without my Savior Jesus Christ.  I love my Savior with all of my heart.  I know that he lives and that he loves each and every one of us.  So we had a pretty sweet experience this week.  Elder Hill and I were new to the area and there wasn't a lot in the area book.  We decided the best thing to do was to fast.  We started a fast to lead and guided by the spirit to know where to go and what to say to people.  During and after our fast we have run into so many people that are eager to here the gospel.  We went to church on Sunday and the entire ward was excited to see us and wanted to tell us all about the neighbors they had been fellowshipping and dying to get the missionaries to teach.  The power of fasting is insane.  The blessings that the Lord is willing to grant us as long as we are willing are incredable.  I love this work so much it is such a blessing to be able to be out here in the service of my Heavenly Father.  I know that he lives and that he loves us.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I love you all and hope that you have a great week.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support that you are giving me.  I couldn't do it without a loving family.  I love you all.  With lots of hugs and kisses and love from Virginia.
