NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP

OOOOO!  How are you doing?

It was so great to hear from you.  Mom our heavenly Father hears your prayers.  I was in a lesson this week and I felt a prompting to write Devin and see how everything is going.  Your Heavenly Father loves you don't ever forget that.  He knows that you can help Devin become the man that you know he can be.  It just takes patience and persistance.  Never ever give up.  One day he will look back on his life and thank you for all the loving guidance that you have given him over the years.  NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP.  That is one thing that you taught me while I was growing up.  Adams are not quiters we don't throw in the towel early or say it's to hard.  We look forward with faith and know that He is always by our side.  It sounds like you have had a pretty eventful week.  You are so lucky that you get to go to the temple and be able to sit in the house of the Lord.  I wish so badly that we could go to the temple.  I miss it so much.  This week was a great week in Piedmont. This week we saw a really sweet miracle. We took this guy on a church tour. His name is Ryan. We showed up a little late because we were running behind but he was fine with it. We should him what was in the church and explained what services would be like. At the end of the tour I asked him what he was feeling. He said that he wasn't sure. He felt nervous and his chest was on fire. It was such an amazing blessing to be able to testify to him that that was the spirit.  Another miracle that we were able to participate in is the baptism of the Beasley kids and father.  The mother has been a member for a while now and has been trying for so long to get her husband to take interest in the church.  She has tried for a long time now to also get her kids into the church but she has found no success until this week on Thursday.  They are so excited to get baptized.  It is a miracle and a blessing that the Lord has allowed me to know this family and to help them progress.  I know that it was only because of him that they are even being baptized.  It will definitley be great.  I hope that everything is doing well.  If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know.  One thing that has been very apparent to me this week is that our Savior loves us.  He helps us through everything and he is mindful of all the trials that we are going through.  The best thing is that when he answers our prayers he answers them through other people.  We must always be watchful and humbly to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost we may not know where it is going to take us or what the savior might tell us to do but always be watchful and vigilent in follow the Holy Ghost.  I love my Savior so much I thank him everyday that I have the opportunity to put on the black name tag and white shirt.  It is such a blessing.  I know that he lives.  I love you all and I thank you mom for everything that you have done for me.  NEVER GIVE UP.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  With lots of Love from Virginia.

What Up

Dear Mom,

Your letter ment the world to me today.  I thank you so much for writing me.  That's all I need is you to write me and let me know how you feel.  It's so great to just be able to hear from you and see how you are doing.  Thank you so much for letting me feel the love you have for me through your letters.  Thank you so much for the package.  It was a great blessing.  I loved it so much.  I have almost eaten all the candy in it already.  Man it was good.  Your Valentines day sounds like it was a blast!  That is so awesome.  Yes I remember when we did that before I left.  I think that you should join the Choir in the ward.  That would be so fun.  You have a great voice and sing amazingly.  One of my favorite memories of you is when ever you would sing in sacrament meeting.  Not only that but also singing, "There is a green hill far away."  I have no idea why that song but I can always here you singing that in my mind.  I love you so much mom you are so great.

This week was a great week.  We had a massive snow storm come through this week.  We had probably 15 inches of snow.  Man it was crazy!!!!  So what did we do? Of course we went out and started shoveling peoples walks.  The Lord saw our willingness and eagerness to get out and to work and he blessed our efferts.  So Elder Hill and I were shoveling one of our investigators cars out.  We had almost got done with that so we just started to shovel other peoples walks that were on this same street.  A man came up to me and started to talk to me.  He asked me if I could help him because he had a really bad hip and couldn't do anything.  I said of course.  I went and helped him and we talked for a little bit.  He was a Johovah Witness and wasn't interested.  He asked if we wanted anything to drink.  We were good so we just went on working.  A little bit later his guy came out again and said, "hey I know that you said you didn't want anything but i'm going to the store and I'm going to get some Cocoa.  You better drink it."  I agreed and so when he came back we went into his house and got talking.  This guy was awesome he is about 60 years old and lives with his girl friend.  He does BBQ cooking at the local street fairs.  O it gets better he learned how to do BBQ from the guy that is named best wings in Massachusetts.  This guy is good!  We talked to them and then began to teach them.  They loved the Restoration of the gospel, and they wanted to learn more.  They were so thirsty for the gospel but had no idea that they were.  It was such a testimony builder to me that people need this gospel even if they think they don't.  They desperatly need it so badly.  We are going to teach them again this week.  There were so many miracles this week from our diligent service even though Satan tried to stop us with the weather.

I am doing great.  I couldn't be happier right now in the service of my Heavenly Father.  It is such a great blessing to be out here and to be constantly working.  I love this work so much.  I love being able to put on the Black name tag and a white shirt every morning knowing that my Savior Jesus Christ is going to walk by my side that day, and point me in the direction that I need to go.  If there is one thing that I can say I know with all my heart is that my Savior Loves me and is concered for me.  He knows exaclty what I need.  He lives and he loves me.  I love this gospel so much it is such a blessing to have it in our life.  I don't think we realize how special we are to have the restored gospel in our life.  I love you all and hope that you have a great week.  I pray for you every night.  I hope that you know that if you need anything from me to let me know I would love to help you.  Mom a great way to start studying your scriptures very basically is first get a spiral note book.  Then when every you are reading write down in that note book what the spirit teaches you.  It may be hard at first but you will soon find so many great treasures that will be forever burned on your heart.  I love you and hope you have a great week.  I say these things in that name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  With lots of love and hugs and kisses from Virginia.

Happy Valentines Day

No Way that is super sweet!!! Have you guys been watching it a lot?

hahaha funny stuff right.  It's crazy how fast the time flies.  I can still remember the day I left like it was yesterday the time is going by way quick.

Well this week has been another awesome week in the mission field.  It's such a great blessing to be in the service of our Heavenly Father every day.  There is nothing better than working all day everyday in bringing happiness to everyone around you.  That is crazy to hear about all of the people getting married.  That is so cool that Brannen is getting married.  IT'S ABOUT TIME.  Just kidding.  I don't think I really need anything.  Thank you for sending the package.  You really don't have to send me a package but I thank you so much for doing that.  I haven't been able to contact our ward mission leader about Tom Adams because he has been in Utah for the past two weeks.  He should be coming back this week so I will talk to him and see if he knows any of that information.  It sounds like the new ward is way sweet.  Speaking in sacrament meeting is a blessing.  Look forward to those experiences.  It's awesome when you get to teach because our Heavenly Father will always bless you with new knowledge and a better understanding of that topic.  We haven't had to many storms back here lately.  We some times get a little bit of snow but nothing bad enough to shut things down again.  Then again they do shut everything down for the dumbest reasons out here so who knows it could happen.  Transfer calls were yesterday and I am not getting transferred.  It look like I will be staying in Piedmont for another six weeks.  I am so excited this area is about ready to explode in missionary work.

This week was a great week.  I was able to learn a very valuable lesson.  As I have gone through mission so far I have really been noticing the importance of listening.  It is so important that we listen to those around us.  Make sure that everything is off of our mind and truly try to listen to people as they express their feelings.  This week I was able to learn the importance of expressing your feelings.  I was first able to see the blessings of expressing your feelings to investigators.  As I tried to bear pure heart felt testimony the spirit was so much strong than if I were to just go through the motions.  As I truly began to express how I really felt about them and wanted to help them grow and come close to my Savior they understood that I loved them.  It get even better.  I started to see that expressing your true emotion not only applies to teaching lesson but it also applies to relationships such as family and friends.  I was able to talk to my companion in heart felt conversation one morning and it brought the spirit so strongly into our lives.  It helped us understand what we can do better in all aspects of the work.  Now the greatest one is expressing heart felt concerns to our Heavenly Father.  To many times we go through prayers with little to no effort.  We simply pray because we have to.  As I have got on my knees every night and strived to have true heart felt prayers and pray for those whom I love I have been able to feel my Heavenly Fathers love so strongly towards these individuals.  It has been such a blessing to be able to express to my Heavenly Father all my wants desires and true emotions.  I know that when we kneel down and pray to our Heavenly Father and express our true desires he will bless us with those things that we ask for, "Ask and ye shall receive."  The most important lesson is that our Heavenly Father man not bless us in the most obvious ways.  Read David A. Bednar's talk in last general Conference.  He helps us understand that the Lord is going to bless us in simple ways that could be over looked if not looked upon with eyes and hearts of gratitude.  Be thankful for the little things understand that our Heavenly Father loves you.  I know that he loves me I have been able to see so many blessings on a daily bases as I have been out here on my mission.  I know that my Redeemer lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know that he is the Savior of the World and that through him I can do all things.  I know these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I hope that you have all have a great week.  Know that I love you and that you are in my prayers.  I thank you so much for all that you do.  All the support and love that is sent my way.  I thank you so much for everything that you have done for me.  I love you.  With lots of love and hugs and kisses from Virginia.

Superbowl

This week was such a great week.  Holly Cow so many miracles and blessings and wonderful blessing.  The weather is being super weird up here.  One day it will be 18 degrees and snowing and the next day it will be 75 degrees and sunny.  It's pretty crazy all of the weather patterns up here.  That's way sweet that you were able to have that many people over for the super bowl party.  That sounds like it was a blast.  It was pretty sweet we had a member that actually invited us over to eat with them before the super bowl.  There name is the Coopers.  They live in this sweet house that is right on a lake.  We did not watch the game we just talk with all of the people that were their and then shared a message then tried to go and contact and teach some people during the super bowl.  Yeah people don't really want to listen while a football game is on.  It's pretty crazy to see how people would put a game before Jesus Christ and eternal happiness.

We have a family that is set for Feb. 27.  Their names are the Beasley's.  It's the Dad, son and daughter, Anthony Sr., Anthony Jr., and Kiana.  They are golden.  There mother is already a member and is really helping the process move a long and supporting her husband and kids.  It is so amazing to see their desire to go and to follow our Savior Jesus Christ.  I love this work it is such a blessing to be able to see these people change their lives.  We have been able to see so many miracles happening on a daily bases where our Heavenly Father is putting people in our path that we need to talk to and tell them of this gospel.  We have been able to see so many blessings.  I think that probable the greatest blessing is being able to see Devin and Arista going to the temple.  The other week I was thinking about about the blessing that I have received from serving a mission.  I have been so blessed out here but I think the greatest thing that has occurred is seeing my brother and his wife preparing for the temple.  I love this gospel it brings so much happiness to life and really helps us when times are tough and we feel down.  This work is amazing I love it so much.  These last couple of weeks a thought has been coming to my mind a lot.  How do we become fully converted?  I do not know a lot on this topic or how to become fully converted.  It has become very apparent to me that we must all become converted to the Lords will.  There will come a time in all of our lives when our faith will be tested and  our testimonies tried.  It is up to us to prepare now.  The time to prepare in not when the problem hits but rather while the skies are still blue.  When there is no apparent reason to prepare.  By prepare we not only strengthen ourselves but we show our love for our Savior Jesus Christ that we want to get closer to him that we want to be best friends with him.  I invite you guys to study the topic of conversion.  See what it is that you can do to KNOW these things are true.  Faith starts out simple but as we change and become more focused on the will of God things will become real to us.  Then we can stand as many great men and woman of the scriptures and of these Latter-days and say that I know with a surety that this church is true that our redeemer lives and that he has Atoned for our sins.  I know that conversion is a process but we can never go wrong when we set a goal to get closer to our Savior.  I know that this church is true.  I know that my Savior lives.  I know that he loves me.  I know that he Book of Mormon is the Word of God.  I know that we need strength beyond our own to be able to accomplish the things in this life.  I know that my Savior walks with me everyday and is there by my side.  He is so loving and compassionate and caring.  I know these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  Mom thank you so much for baring your testimony it was very powerful and I loved it.  Yesterday we were talking to  a young mother and how much she loves he children.  I was able to look back on my childhood and see all of the times that you went completely out of your way to make my day better.   Even if you didn't have the time our were to busy you were still there always cheering me on and helping me in everything.  I thank you so much for that and love you with all of my Heart you are an amazing mother.  Thank you for all that you have done for me.  You have done an amazing job as a mother and generations will be blessed because of your righteous example.  I love you all and hope you have a great week.  With lots of hugs kisses and love from Virginia.

Mom you are great don't get down on yourself.  There were so many times like when you made me that sack lunch for soccer.  You could have just thrown in together and shipped it off but no you wrote me a note and told me that you love me.  You were an amazing mom always worrying about Family.
