Happy New Year!

hey I'm on!
awesome I only have 15 min before I got to go.  We went to a library today.
no we just had a boat load of elders with us so it was going to take forever!
no we are just spending the day with them.  and probably the muddy buddys and the tie.

This week was a great week.  It was so great to be able to hear from you and talk with all of you.  It is such a blessing to be able to be a part of such a strong supportive family.  I love it so much.  It sounds like your Christmas was packed with lots of fun and all that good stuff.  I'm so jealous that you are all getting snow!  That is one thing that I am just dying for right now.  We have had temperatures in the 60's my companion and I don't even wear jackets.  That sounds like a lot of fun that you are able to go back to the Primary.  Teaching is the best calling in the Church.  It gives you and excuse to be able to study the scriptures and really get to know you Savior personally.  I know personally that studying the scriptures is the greatest blessing to be able to have in our lives. This was the greatest Christmas of my life! We went around and were able to teach so many amazing people and bless them with the joy of their Savior. One guy that we went and saw was a single black guy that doesn't have any family near by. He tried to go down to New Orleans to see his family but he couldn't get the money together. Elder Holloway and I decided to first just visit with him and help him feel loved, like he had friends. The spirit was so strong and then we asked if we could share a message about the Jesus Christ. This guy has been an investigator for a while and was going to be baptized a lot of times but he always gets scared and backs out. As we talked with him he let us know his concerns and he really opened up. We then asked him to come to church and pray about being baptized. He agreed to it and the spirit of Christ was really in that room. It was so amazing to just be able to forget yourself on Christmas and see the Lord work through you.
So this year I have made it a goal to be able to finish Jesus the Christ before the end of my mission.  You will have to keep me accountable to be able to make sure that I do that  It's such a good book.  I would really encourage you to read it sometime.
So about the things with Josh and Jera...  just don't worry about it.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of Agency.  Everything in the end will all work out and you will be able to see the Lords hand in all things.  That is one thing that I have really been able to see on my mission.  Despite the hard times as well as the easy times everything works out.  I know that to be true.  Just pray and ask God to open your eyes to see his work.  I love you so much and I thank you for all that you do. I love this work and I know that it is true. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know with all my heart that he is eager to bless his missionaries if we show him that we are consecrated. I know that this is the true church and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  Have a great week I love You.  With all my love from Virginia.

Merry Christmas

That's awesome. I'm on.
how are you?
ooo fun that sounds like fun.
I had to wait for some other elders to get done writing.
exactly... So I was thinking that I would take the money that I got from both grandma's and buy a suit today.  They are having a huge sale of them.  Would that be ok?
that will be fine.  It will probably on be like 150
perry ellece.  and not sure....
it has but it didn't say anything on there.
ok and no.   I don't need snow boots I will be fine.

So I won't be calling this Christmas....  Just kidding I will calling you at 3 my time and 1 your time.  I will try to skype you.  Those pictures of me at the Christmas party must be burned I have no idea what I was thinking... haha That was a lot of fun.  Awesome thank you so much for getting all the Christmas things together.  Hope everything is going well.  I have a confession, I have not sent you a gift yet hopefully I will be able to get it in the mail sometime soon... Yeah not sure about that but we will try to get it to you before I get home.  Just got a little to busy.  Lots of really cool miracles have been happening here in Q-town.  We had a really cool one as we were at our ward party.  My companion and I were going to get our scriptures to go and teach one of the investigators that came to the party and as we were walking outside this guy walks up to us and says, "Yes the lord has led me you to."  We were a little confused so we started to talk to him.  He is from Sierra Leone and has learned about the church.  We sat down with him taught him a lesson and he is now getting baptized this weekend.  This was the coolest miracle!  There are so many great things happening.  It is such a blessing to be able to see the Kingdom of God roll forward at such an alarming rate.  Well this e-mail will be short because I will talk to you on Christmas.  Thank you so much for all that you do and all your love and support.  I know that this gospel is true and that my Savior loves me.  I know with all my heart that the spirit is real and that there is no way that any work could be done with out it.  I know with all my heart that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you and hope that you have a great week.  With all my love from Virginia.

Elder Adams

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha  That's funny!
ok sounds good.  I will talk to you then.  But I got to run.  With all my love from Virginia.  Talk to you soon

Cold!

hey i'm on
awesome.  How is everything going?
sweet.  are you at work right now or are you off?
O hahah fun.....  Help those kids

This week was another great week in Quantico. It is the best nothing is greater than serving the Lord during this time of year.  So many great miracles and so many great people that are willing to learn about the gospel it is the best.  It sounds like the New house is having a few problems... Sorry about that it's not good.  It was really good to know about your childhood though.  I think it's kind of interesting to be able to understand all about the history of the family.  It's all good don't worry you can always just talk about anything and I will listen.  I'm not sure what you can send me really anything works.  It's all good.
This week we had an amazing miracle. It was with a little girl, Nadia Sheets that was baptized on Sunday. Now last Sunday we weren't sure if she was going to make her date but we did everything in faith. We prepared a baptism programm to help her see what the service would be like. We talked with her parents and tried to think of anyway that we could help her. Then finally we said we are just going to do the interview. On the drive over to the interview we got a text from her father that said, "Nadia has decided to be baptized on Sunday!" That was the greatest text that I have ever recieved in my life. That was absolutley amazing. The greatest thing that has ever happened. It was the best. Then the spirit was so strong at her baptism. There is nothing better than to be able to see a young girl make a covenant with her Heavenly Father. I know that this church is true and I know that my Savior lives. I know with all my heart that faith is what it's all about in this work. If we show the faith we can have all the hope in the world that our Father in Heaven will be there for us. I love this work and I love my Savior and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  This week should be great we are hoping to be able to see another person baptized this week.  It's so amazing to see the work of the Lord move forward.  Well Sorry this one was short I hope that everything is going great.  I love you and pray for you thank you so much for all that you do for me.  With all my love from Virginia.

Holiday Season!

Hey I'm on!
No I have not!
That is awesome!!!!
That is way awesome!!!  Holly cow crazy things.
just everything all things are great!! So I'm in Quantico up in Woodbridge VA.  It's home of the Marine Base.  My companions Elder Holloway He's a black guy from LA
Louisianna
Yes I did.  My address is 2807 Woodmark dr. appt.204 Woodbridge VA 22192
yes I did it is great!  contacts yes garments I'm good.
you don't need to send them yet.  Wait tell you have other things!

Well that is way fun to be able to hear all about the amazing things that are happening.  It's so crazy to think that Courtney is coming home already.  Time flies while you are on the mission that is for sure.  We have had some awesome miracles up here in the Quantico area.  It is so great to be able to be serving up here. I love this ward so much.   They are sweet.  It sounds like Devin is pretty set on all Virginia schools.  Let him know that all the NOVA, (Northern Virginia) schools, housing will be super expensive because he's so close to DC.  University of Virginia is the sweetest thing but there is a lot of drinking on that campus.  You will have to let me know what he decides.  It sounds like you are all having a lot of fun.  I love you all so much you are so sweet.  We might be going pretty soon to the Marine Museum here.  So I think that I might need some money for that.  I'm not really sure about that though.   We have seen so many great miracles this past week, Quantico is the best! One of the greatest days was yesterday. We had just had church which was amazing we had a lot of investigators show up. Then we set out for the rest of the day to go and find someone great new people. We were going around talking to everyone and Elder Holloway recieved a prompting to turn around and knock on a door. He does and right when he knocks he then hears, "talk about family history." He does and this guy is golden. He wants to be baptized but just hasn't been able to attend a church long enough. It's amazing then later that night we were going to the Christmas Devotional and we get there and no one showed up... We weren't sure what to do so we thought about it and we both thought to go to an appartment complex and finish the night working. We went there and knocked all the doors we could. There was no answer except for one and they weren't interested. We then hear a car door open and we go down to see who it is. It's this guy named Nixon he is awesome!!!! He is from Ghana and knows about the church. He is awesome and is praying about baptism on Dec. 27. He is so ready it is so amazing!!! I love this gospel and I love the works of the spirit. The spirit is the most effective way to do this work! I know that that is obvious but it is the most amazing thing to be able to see the spirit work on someone else and in your own life. I know that this work is true and I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves each and everyone of us. I love this work and I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of God that restored this truth to this earth. I know with all my heart that this work is real and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love this work.  This week my studies have been really awesome.  I have been studying, What makes us different from the Pharisees?  You can not be extreme in any sense of the word!  You must be flexible and willing to change in order to fulfill the will of the Father.  I know with all my heart that this gospel is true and that the church of Jesus Christ is living.  I love this gospel and I love you.  Thank you for all that you do and I love you with all my heart.  With all my love from Virginia.

hmmm probably going to be super hard with me across the country and no time.....

That is awesome!  It sounds like Thanksgiving really good.  That is really interesting about the family history stuff crazy crazy right there.  All I know is that families can be together forever and that's all that matters to me.  That is crazy with the ward Christmas party.  It sounds like you are having a lot of fun though and that it's keeping you busy which that is always good.  It's fun to be in other families homes for the holidays and to see their traditions.  It sounds like you were all up and down the valley this week with all kinds of things.  I don't really care what is in the Christmas package.  You have done great at surprising me so far so I think you will do just fine.  You will have to send me a picture of the new house all decorated.  I think I only saw one picture and it was on the outside and it still looked like we lived in the middle of no where with no grass... Just kidding haha.
This week was a great week.  Holiday weeks are always interesting in a YSA ward.  We were able to go to a bishopric members house for lunch and then our ward mission leader took us out to afghan kabobs for dinner.  It was amazing.  Very interesting experience but such good food.  So many people leave but it's all good we were able to see John Lytle get baptized.  Elder Denning and I were lead to John's door when we first came here.  It took us forever to meet back up with him but after a while we were able to meet with him and be able to see him completely change.  It was absolutely amazing.  We were able to see a man that didn't have any belief in God or a faith in Jesus Christ come to the knowledge of his Savior and that he had a loving Heavenly Father.  This was the most amazing thing in the whole world.  John as now read the Book of Mormon about 25 times he said that he has lost count.  He just can't stop reading it.  We gave him the Doctrine and Covenants and hopefully the church will be able to print enough material for him to be able to read it.  He is such an amazing guy.  At his baptism we gave him the opportunity to be able to stand and bare his testimony.  He stood up and read the poem by Robert Frost, "The Road Less Traveled."  At the end of his testimony he said, "Today I took the road less traveled and it made all the difference."  That was so poetic and such a blessing to be able to see how this gospel has effected his life in such a profound way.  This week has been a week were I have really thought about personal goals and making sure that I fulfill the things that my Savior Jesus Christ wants me to do.  As I have thought about these things it has been interesting to think how our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he has given us complete agency to choose what we want to do.  He force us to do anything but he does guide us to the things that he needs us to do.  It's always interesting to think that he trusts us to listen to his spirit and to be lead by it though out life.  If we choose to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost and be obedient to our Heavenly Fathers command then we do not need to fear at all.  We will always fulfill his will.  I love my Savior Jesus Christ so much he lives!  I know that he lives and that he loves us.  I know that the Atonement is such a real power and that it is constantly changing us and sanctifying us.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is the word of God.  I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I love you so much and I hope that you have a great holiday season.  There is a great message that I highly encourage you to watch and to share with all your friends.  It's called "He is the Gift."  It can be found onchristmas.mormon.org  It is so powerful.  I love this work so much you constantly see the the Saviors hand in your life.  I love you and hope you have a great week.  If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know.  With all my love from Virginia.

Another Great Week!

Hello I'm on!!!!
I didn't receive an e-mail...
ok sounds good.
yes I got it.  That's pretty crazy that you ralfed.  Sorry I didn't tell you about Jeffersons house.  It was sweet!!! That dude was way smart.  It was way cool to be able to see some virginia history.
I already sent my e-mail.  It was really cool though.  A lot of people think of Thomas Jefferson as an inventor but he actually a designer.  Which is kind of interesting.
We actually have Elders zone p-day.  So we are going to play sports and get some excursive.  It will be great!
sorry exercise

What a great week in the mission.  So many great blessings came to us this week.  The greatest blessing this week was to be able to see Scarlett Bradley being baptized.  It's so amazing to be able to see someone that is curious about the church and begins to ask questions move to being able to stand and declare that they know that this church is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.  There is no way that this work would move forward with out the Spirit and the hand of the Lord in every step of the work.  I love this Gospel so much.  Being on my mission has really helped me to see that nothing is done by me alone but it is all done by Him.  There are so many times were He enables me to be more than I am, strengthens me to be stronger then I will every be and have a greater capacity to love then is humanly possible.  This gospel is absolutely amazing.  His plan is life changing and marvelous.  Another fantastic miracle that happened this week is of a young lady that we are teaching.  I'm not sure if I've told you about her.  She is very Catholic and very involved in the Catholic church.  She was actually thinking about becoming a nun right out of High School.  We had a great lesson with her about being able to act upon the promptings that she receives.  As we were able to talk with her the spirit was so strong and helped us understand how to best help her grow in her own testimony.  The spirit is such an amazing thing in the work.  We were not able to set her on date to be baptized but she is definitely praying about it and beginning to obtain a testimony.  The last miracle that occurred this week was of a guy that we have been teaching forever.  I've told you about him.  We should be able to see him baptized by the end of the week.  He has slowly grown his testimony and began to find is faith in Christ.  He is now trying to find if he should be baptized this weekend.  We are really hoping that it will.  It has been amazing to be able to see the atonement in his life.  I love this work.  There is nothing greater than this work and all the miracles that occur on a regular bases.  I know with all my heart that this is the true church of God and that Jesus Christ guides and directs this work here on earth.  I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he as Thomas S. Monson is the mouth piece for God here on this earth.  I love my Savior with all my heart.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that if we read it with the intent to better our lives we will constantly find it as the greatest help to get closer to our Father in Heaven.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I hope that you all have a great week and a great holiday.  You will have to let me know how it goes.  Thank you for all that you do and for helping me be the person that I am today.  I love you with all my heart.  If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know.  With all my love from Virginia.

Pre-Thanksgiving

Hi I'm on!
no just on time for once:) How are you?
ok sounds good.  Hey I know that I spent a lot of money this week... Sorry but we wanted to go to monticello today.   It's thomas Jeffersons house.  it is going to cost $25 is that ok?
paypal was the driving school and Chesapeake foods? how much?
hmmm I'm not sure...
The Charge.  I'm still driving.
Yes I am driving.  And that thing is way to big to be in your bed.
When does it say it got charged?
It might be Chilies....  Not sure
yes sorry.  Well I got to go but know I love you see you later.  Have a great week.  If there is anything that I can do for you just let me know! Love!!!!

That is so fun!  That is some great advice from the stake high council men.  I really like that.  That is so funny that Brother Butler is the new bishop.  That guy is so funny probably the coolest guy there is. That is so much fun though.  It sound like everything is going really good out there.  How cold is it?  It's been pretty cold here.  Hasn't dropped below freezing though so that's always nice!  I should be good with the weather change though.  I have all my winter stuff from last year so as far as I know I'm good.  Arista is doing great it sounds like that is so awesome.  That is also way crazy about Josh.  That is insane though...
This week has been a great week.  The greatest thing that happened this week is that Scarlette Bradley, an investigator that we have been working with for like 2 months now.  Not because she didn't want to be baptized but because she wanted to wait for her mother to be able to see it.  She is getting baptized this week!!!  YA!  Sweet miracle nothing like receiving that text from her that says, "Could I get baptized this week?"  The best thing in the whole world!!!  We are really excited to see her be baptized.  Another really cool miracle that happened this week is that we have been teaching this guy that hadn't had any faith in Jesus Christ when we first met him.  We slowly were able to help him progress and be able to understand how he can improve his relationship with God and come to know Jesus Christ.  He is committed to be baptized on Nov. 30.  He is really working towards it we taught him the word of wisdom this week and he had no problem with it and was ready to try it out.  It is amazing how our Heavenly Father softens peoples hearts and prepares people to accept the gospel.  We are also teaching this other guy his name is Kwame he is from Ghana.  You can see how he is changing his life from his old life style to now a life style that follows Christ.  It is so amazing to see how people are effected by the Atonement of Jesus Christ every day and to see them come closer to him.  I know that this is the work of the Lord and that he is constantly watching over his children.  I love missionary work!!! These last couple of weeks have been very interesting and I have been able to learn more about how our Heavenly Fathers plan works. This is a simply doctrine but this is a doctrine that I feel is most important. It's that of spiritual creation and faith. Together these two doctrines help us follow Gods plan and fulfill his will hear on this earth. The thing that has always stuck out to me as I have been serving my mission is the amount of planning that must take place in order for a great spiritual moment to occur. I feel that constantly we are preparing working toward the next great spiritual moment and when it comes we simply learn it love it and take that spiritual truth and progress to the next spiritual truth. I love this gospel and how it works but none of these spiritual truths would be worth anything if we don't have faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is He who makes all things possible by his power and his word are all things fulfilled. I simply know that spiritual preparation, spiritual creation, is the most important thing that we must learn along with faith.  I hope that you all have a great week and that you continue to hasten the work of Salvation one step at a time.  It is a great blessing that the Lord has blessed us with to be able to so close to a temple in Utah.  It is our imperative duty to hasten the work of Salvation and bring all souls to Christ.  We MUST do all that we can to help others come unto Christ.  Find the way that you can do the work of the Lord and be fabulous.  I love my Savior with all my heart and I know that this is the Lords church here on this earth.  I know that is church was restored by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith and that the work that he did for us is far beyond any other humans work beside Jesus Christ.  I know that this is the Hastening of the work of Salvation this is the last time that our Lord will gather his people.  I know that he will bless us as we move forward and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you and have a great week.  With all my love from Virginia.

Love You

hey love you don't know when I will be able to e-mail have to take a driving course...
I only got the first e-mail.... Sorry I'm on now

Hello, Sorry that this e-mail is going to be so short.  I have been taking this online driving course all day.  Yeah never get a ticket for sure... It's definitely not fun at all.  I love you.  Thank you so much for sending me an e-maill this week.  It was great to be able to hear about all the great things that are occurring.  It sound like you had a great week and the stress finally gone.  I love you so much.   Don't worry about me your last sentences seem like you are very worried.  I am doing great.  I love the work of God and there is nothing better than serving the Lord.  I love this work with all my heart.  I have been able to learn so much about myself and about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had a really great miracle this week with a guy that we have been teaching for a while now. He has had a very hard life as he has served in the military and seen so many things that have destroyed his faith in God and in Jesus Christ. We have been teaching him trying to help him gain the faith to pray and he has begun praying and reading the Book of Mormon. The greatest thing happened this week. While we were teaching him we simply helped him understand that he's not going to get closer to God unless he begins preparing for baptism. We helped him see that this was a step to strengthen his faith in Jesus Christ and re-build the relationship he once had. Now we've had this conversation with him many of times but this time just felt different. As we invited him to prepare for baptism by coming to church he said, "For sure this week it is set in stone." We didn't stop there! We then invited him to be baptized on Nov. 30. He said, "I'm not sure if I can make that but if I know that it's true for myself then yes I will." YES! Ask in faith and everything is possible. I know with all my heart that faith is a power and miracles do occur as we go forth in faith. I know that He lives and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know that this gospel is true and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that this is the work of God and that he is hastening it. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.   I love you so much. If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know.  By the way I just might go to montecello next week, Thomas Jeffersons house.  Not sure though we might just play some sports.  I love you and have a great week.  With all my love from Virginia.

Scholarship

Dear Mom,
Sorry P-day was a little crazy this week.  We had to go teach a guy a lesson early in the morning.  But the good new is He's GOING TO BE BAPTIZED ON NOV. 30!!!!  It was a sweet lesson man just awesome.  It sounds like you need another hobby... I'm telling you you just need to start selling houses for a living you would be way good at it. I just want to thank you so much for the Halloween package.  It was the best thing in the whole wide world to get that.  Especially the apple cider.  Man that stuff is great after you just get done tracting and you are frozen.  Just simp on some of that and bam it's like magic you are warm again.  It is getting pretty cold out here.  The mornings are almost to cold for me to go and run sprints now so I'm not sure what I'm going to do for work outs.  I will find something.  I love you though and thank you so much for all that you do for me.  Thank you so much for all the support that you have given me.  I love you so much and thank you so much for just being a great mom.  We saw a lot of great miracles this week.  I'm short on time so I will just tell you about the lesson we had. In my nightly prayers I have been asking the Lord to help me find the one. The one person that needs to be baptized that day or to simply learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's amazing that when you ask for things Heavenly Father answers. This morning we were getting ready and during companion study I said that we needed to call a former investigator really quick. We didn't get an answer so I was puzzled. By the end of Comp. study the former called us back and said that he could meet right then. Elder Denning and I instantly hurried to go and meet with him. The lesson was great and the spirit was jam packed into that room. It was absolutely amazing such a powerful experience. We helped him understand that he must change his life today make the decision to stop drinking and to clean up his life. We were bold with him and simply told him what needed to happen. Then we invited him to be baptized. He accepted the date of Nov. 30.  This work is so great I know that my redeemer lives and loves all of his children and that he wants us to be able to become just like him.  I love my lord and Savior with all my heart and I know that this gospel is the truth.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it does help us draw nearer to God.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.  I love you and hope that you have a great week!! If there is anything that I can do for you just let me know.  With all my love from Virginia.

Yes I got it thank you!!!
Yes I did! that looks super sweet!  and that's good that you were able to not spend your whole life on the house.

That is so awesome that you were able to talk in church!  It sounds like everything went super well.  I'm impressed that you could understand Dad haha just kidding.  It sounds like you all are super busy and having a lot of things to do with the Christmas committee and all that fun stuff.  That is super fun though.  The mountains in that picture look crazy insane.  Haven't seen those things in a really long time.  The biggest thing that I've seen out here is a hill.  The hills are pretty though that is for sure.  All the leafs out here are changing color and it looks absolutely amazing!  It's getting a little bit colder out here to so that's always nice.  I love the cold weather out here.  The winter is so beautiful.  Apollo looks like he is getting huge!!!.
So this week has been a very interesting week.  There has been a lot of miracles and things like that but I would first like to start off with the things that I have been able to learn.  These last couple of weeks have been a little stressful trying to be a good example to the missionaries that I serve and trying to do all that I can acting in faith so that Heavenly Father will trust me to be able to do his work and help his children progress to the gospel.  As I sat there one night thinking about how I can help missionaries realize there potential and help them build there faith the thought came to me, "What are you doing?".  Now I could have just brushed that off and said, "Well I'm doing all I can so I'm good, what can I do to help others."  I let that thought sit there for a while and pondered it.  I thought about what am I doing?  Am I doing the bare minimum and why am I doing it?  What are my true desires?  Now that I think about this a little more I realize that our Heavenly Father whats us to have the eye of Faith.  He wants us to dream big and to shoot for the stars when we set goals or do anything in our life.  What is our desire though?  Are we doing it because we want recognition or because we want to simply put that on our pride self so that when we are feeling bad about ourself we can hand ourself a pick me up.  Desire are what shape us as God's children.  It all comes down to why.  We can study the how all day and not see a change in our life but until we understand the why and obtain the true reason why (the love of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father) that is when we become changed.  I love this gospel and I love how my Savior Jesus Christ teaches me and helps me understand more about his gospel.  I know that this church is true and that he lives and loves each and everyone of us.  I know with all my heart that the gospel does changes lives.  That  this is the work of God and truly the power of Godliness is manifest in the ordinances of the gospel.  I know all these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I love the area of Cville and love the people here. The work of the Lord is going forward and so many great people are ready to be baptized. We had some really great miracles that occurred this week. One of the greatest ones that happened was with a guy that one of our ward members brought to church. He had come last week but told us that he wasn't interested in listening to the gospel. He then came again this week and in gospel essentials class there was a lot of talk about Joseph Smith and about temple work. The ward member asked him if he would want to sit down with the missionaries after church and he agreed to it. This gentleman has never had really any religion in his life. He had a very basic understand of a higher power but nothing else. It was interesting to basically start from scratch. As we started to teach him he had a puzzled look on his face and didn't understand the things we were teaching. We then shared the story of Joseph Smith and how prayer works. When we told him that God is a being like us. His entire countenance changed and you could see that the spirit was then working within him. As we finished the lesson we asked him to pray and it was one of the most powerful prayers that I have every heard in my life. He is amazing. We invited him to be baptized but he wasn't sure quiet yet. I know though that the Lord is going to make this desire work in him and that he will come to a true knowledge and understanding of this gospel.
I love you so much and I thank you so much for all that you do for me.  I thank you so much for the support that I receive from you.  I am so sorry for making you do all these things... I promise I will stop I don't want you to have to do anything else.  You've already got enough on your plate.  I love you so much and hope that you have a great week.  With all my love from Virginia.

Meet the Mormons

Hello I'm on!!!!
Saweet!!!! how is your week going?
Ok awesome!!! and i'm sorry just take a breath.  I learned a lot about that this week.
Just we have been having a hard time with our Zone getting people on date to baptism and then getting people baptized.   We then had a meeting with high councilor over missionary work and I got really frustrated to see how much we have dropped the ball.  The High council men then said, "Look you can't worry if you worry things just don't work out."  I thought about that and it's so true when ever we worry we don't/can't have faith in Jesus Christ.  Worry is simply a form of fear.  Fear and Faith can't co-exist.  Just don't worry take a breath and everything will work out.
hahaha just let it out mom.  It's really not worth it and it's not fun.  It makes life a whole lot harder then it needs to be.
I write in my Journal and at night I lay in my bed and breath in through my knows and out through my mouth until my body feels like it can just float away.  I know mom that that was hard for you to sell the house...  It's definitely something that I don't understand but He does.  Our Savior knows exactly what you are feeling.  Go to the temple that will bring a lot of release.
No of course not!!  Missionary work is just fun that's what it is.  Honestly most of the time I feel like I'm on a two year vacation helping others find Christ.  Yeah it's hard sometimes but it is so rewarding.

Thank you so much mom for doing those things for me.  You are the best mom in the whole world!!!  It sounds like you are having the best time of your life being able to sell the house and get everything ready.  You are going to be pro at this if you keep selling houses.  I mean you've done two on my mission why not go for a third!! Just kidding no one needs that kind of stress.  That is way awesome that you have the opportunity to talk.  There are some great talks on testimony by Elder David A. Bednar I want to say it's called, "Converted to the Lord".  Language I am not sure it's not something that I have really studied every...  Meet the Mormons is a way good movie.  We were able to see it about one week before it was released to the public.  The church wanted us to see it so we can know what it's all about.  That movie is doing wonders for the missionary work.  We haven't seen anything come of it yet but now Walmart wants to be able to sell it and Netflix is waiting to release it.  It's only open in about 300 theaters right now but then this week another 300 will be releasing and the best part the church is now trying to get ready to release it internationally.  It's way sweet.  I will be praying for you this week so that you can close on that house and be done!!!
This week was a great week and we have another great week ahead of us.  Khalil Reid will be being baptized this weekend.  He is such a special person to me.  He has gone through so much in his life and is still trying to find where he fits into this life.  He has asbergers and just has a really rough family situation.  I love this work to simply help others find Christ there is nothing better!  We have been so blessed in this work as we have gone forth with faith to build up the kingdom. We did a lot of finding this week because our investigator pool wasn't looking to good. As we went out and tried to talk to everyone and invited people to read the Book of Mormon there were so many people that accepted the challenge and wanted to learn more. I know that as I have been able to read the Book of Mormon and strengthen my testimony that it touches others hearts. We had a really awesome experience with a guy that is from Africa. He is going to UVA and is about to graduate we met him about two weeks ago but we only taught him this week. We taught him Monday night and he completely understood why there was a need for a prophet in this world. It all made complete sense to him. We invited him to be baptized but he didn't want anything to do with it. We then had a lesson with him this Saturday and we talked all about prophets, priesthood and covenants specifically baptism. As we taught this guy you could see the spirit working in him and it all made sense to him. At the end of the lesson he said, "So I need to make covenants and this is the only church that I can do that. What is your plan for me?" We simply invited him to be baptized on Nov. 9. He thought that was a little soon but he said that he would pray about it. He then said this, "There is something different about you two. The way that you talk and the light in you eyes." I know that that was nothing of our power but simply the light of Christ shinning through us. I love being an instrument in the hands of God it is such a blessing!!!
I simply know that this is the work of the Lord.  That I was called here to Virginia to build up the kingdom of God and that God prepared people here so that I could be his instrument to do his work.  This is his work.  I know that my Savior lives and that he has the power to forgive sin.  I love my Savior with all my heart and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  Well I hope that you have a great week.  Thank you so much for all that you do for me.  With all my love from Virginia.

Fall Break

Hey I'm on.  I didn't get an e-mail from you... plus I need my social security number for church purposes.
OK!!! loves!!!
The church needs it because of all new health care laws.  It's weird but o well.
No I only got one
Yeah ok I got those then.

This week was a great week.  Hailey Jensen got baptized and now she is preparing to go the temple!!!  It sounds like the selling of the house is going great and that you are getting everything into place.  Just imagine when this is all done it will be sweet!!!!  I was thinking about changing my profession to be like a seminary teacher of some sort.  If that was the case I was thinking about going to like a BYU or something to be able to take really good religion classes.  I'm not sure I was just thinking in my mind a lot and tossing some options around.  That's sweet that you have fall break off this week.  UVA had fall break this week and it was crazy how dead the campus got this week.  It's like a ghost town here in Cville.  There are some things on my card that you probably don't understand.  There is a charge for a insta care probably like two weeks ago.  That wasn't for me I promise.  Doctors are over rated and unless I'm dying I won't go to one.  I was on an exchange with a missionary that was really sick and so we went to the doctors and he didn't have his card so I helped him out with the co-pay.  Also there was one last monday at a place called mincers.  For my birthday I bought me a nice UVA hoody.  It's pretty sweet.  Thought I would just let you know.  As for this week it's transfer calls so we will see if I get transferred.  I'm really hoping that I get to stay here in Cville I love this area it is the greatest!!!
This week has been a great week as well as a trying week. There has been so many sweet moments that I will remember for the rest of my life but along with the sweet comes the bitter. The greatest blessing though is that through it all the Lord has taught me more about Him and how I can rely upon him for my strength. I love my Savior with all my heart and know that he is in this work. The first experience of the week was when we were able to confirm a young lady to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The spirit was so sweet and peaceful. The words that were spoken in the blessing were poetic. This young lady was prepared by God there is no doubt in my mind. The greatest thing is that right after her confirmation she was given a calling. I know that this is the Lords church. The next thing that occurred this week that really taught me about my Savior Jesus Christ had to do with two recent converts. We have been trying to help these two converts stay strong in the gospel but one of them just seems to always have something bad occurring in his life that keeps him from finding the peace of the gospel. As we went to go teach him this week he had lost control of his life and he was down in the dumps. He told us to never come back. Now through this experience I have learned that we must always seek joy even in the hardest times. Another thing is that we can never give up on those that we love. I know with all my heart that my Savior Jesus Christ would never give up on any of us so why would we give up on anyone. The Savior is always there I know that with all my heart and I know that he lives and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know with all my heart that the Prophet Joseph Smith was called of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet that lives today. I know that this is the dispensation of the fullness of times and I know with all my heart that his work is hastening. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I hope all is well and know that I love you with all my heart.  I think about you and pray for you daily.  I love you so much.  WIth all my love from Virginia.

Not yet he said that he would.
She is in the Communications comity.  No one has any idea what that means.  Welcome to the Singles ward where you make up callings.
wow that is awesome!!!  Hey just a question.  If you have time this week and only if you have time.  Would you maybe just see how hard it would be for me to get into BYU provo or BYU Idaho?
Thanks mom you are the best!!!  Well I got to go.  I love you so much and thank you so much for all that you do.  I hope that you have a great week with fall break and all.  All my love is sent to you from Virginia.

House Part Two

Hey, I'm on for the day!
Hey how are ya?
no I ment it like I'm here for right now ya know.
Holly snap!!! That is a lot of People.  well good thing you bought a bigger house;)
hahaha nice why not! So other than your crazy week how is everything going?

Holly cow it sounds like you have just had the week of your life... I am so sorry that is no fun:(  I'm not sure what to say about the whole Andy thing.  That is a tough situation that you are having to go through and you definitely in a hard spot.  My heart goes out to you mom I know how hard that must be and how much stress this stuff is causing you.  I am so sorry that you are going through this.  Just remember that often times we have to go through challenges and trials for a reason.  The right things are usually the hard things.  Just take a deep breath and go to the temple.  That is way awesome that Candace is getting her endowment that is way sweet.  General Conference was way awesome! There is nothing better than being able to listen to the prophets voice it was such a great experience.  There were so many great talks.  What was your favorite?  I think that my favorite would have to be all the talks that were on the Sacrament.  The sacrament is a very interesting topic to study.
This morning I had a great study.  It was on the spiritual significance of a prophet.  I have never realized how important the prophet is in our eternal Salvation.  I read a story about Wilford Woodruff “I will refer to certain meeting attended in the town of Kirtland in my early days. At that meeting some remarks were made that have been made here today, with regard to the living prophets and with regard to the written word of God. The same principle was presented, although not as extensively as it has been here, when leading man in the Church got up and talked upon the subject, and said: ‘You have got the word of God before you here in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine andCovenants; you have the written word of God, and you who give revelations should give revelations according to those books, as what is written in those books is the word of God. We should confine ourselves to them.’
“When he concluded, Brother Joseph turned to Brother Brigham Youngand said, ‘Brother Brigham want you to go to the podium and tell usyour views with regard to the living oracles and the written word of God.’Brother Brigham took the stand, and he took the Bible, and laid it down;he took the Book of Mormon, and laid it down; and he took the Book ofDoctrine and Covenants, and laid it down before him, and he said: ‘Thereis the written word of God to us, concerning the work of God from thebeginning of the world, almost, to our day. And now,’ said he, ‘whencompared with the living oracles those books are nothing to me; thosebooks do not convey the word of God direct to us now, as do the words ofProphet or man bearing the Holy Priesthood in our day andgeneration. would rather have the living oracles than all the writing inthe books.’ That was the course he pursued. When he was through,Brother Joseph said to the congregation; ‘Brother Brigham has told youthe word of the Lord, and he has told you the truth.  That story changed my out look on a prophet.  This week we were able to see the baptism of Hailey Jensen it was amazing.  She was so ready to be baptized and has the strongest testimony that I have ever heard.  It was amazing to be able to hear her testimony.  Another great thing that happened this week was I was able to read the entire Book of Mormon is less than a week.  It was the greatest thing to read it that fast.  You really begin to see all the different themes and things that we must look out for in these last days.  I know that this church is true and I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know with all my heart that my Savior is with me everyday always helping me and strengthening me today.  I know with all my heart that he lives!  I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God and that he leads and guides this church to day!  I know all these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.  I love you so much and thank you so much for all that you do for me.  I thank you for your prayers and all the strength that you give me.  There's one thing that I just wanted to ask you about.  Having been serving in a YSA ward on a college campus I get asked the question a lot of what I want to do when I go back pertaining to school.   Now I know that I shouldn't be worried about this but I just wanted to ask you.  What do you think I should do for my career or where do you think I should go to school?  I just want your input I know that parents can receive guidance for their children.  Will I hope that you have a great week and I love you remember to just take a breath.  With all my love from Virginia.
