How is everything going?  It sounds like you have had a very eventful week.  I bet you are going to do great with the shooting course.  I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.  It sounds like you are doing a lot of family stuff.  That is so cool to be able to spend family time.  I am so excited to be able to experience General Conference out here on a mission again.  It is the best thing in the whole world.  It's exciting to see what they will talk about.  

This week we have been so blessed to be able to do so many great things.  We have two baptisms coming up this weekend.  It is going to be great to be able to see these two people enter into the waters of baptism.  We have seen so many great things this week with a lot of people looking to find the truth in there life.  It was so amazing to be able to see people accept the gospel into there lives.  This week I want to tell you about my studies.  I have been able to learn a lot about the Atonement and the purpose of this life.  As I was thinking this week I was thinking about the connection between our bodies and our spirits.  It is incredible to think about how we can use our bodies as a tool to be able to train our spirits or we can use our spirits to train our bodies.  We have a spirit body that has been created by a loving heavenly father with perfect attributes.  Our purpose here on this earth life is to get our body out of the way and let our spirits have complete power over our bodies.  It is when we do this that we can truly become like our Savior Jesus Christ.  The only way that we can do this is by partaking of the atonement and changing completely.  I know with all my hear that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and that he loves us.  I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here on this earth.  I know with all my heart that the Atonement is real.  I love my Savior with all my heart in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I hope that you have a great week.  I love you!!! Well this week was a great week.  A week full of meetings and finding people to teach.  NOTHING BETTER!!!!  It's sounds like you have a pretty busy couple of weeks ahead of you.  It's so weird to hear you talk about the family and all the things that they are doing haha.  I guess I thought life would just take a time out but NOPE.  That is way sweet that you have your concealed weapons permit I did not know that you go it.  Are you able to carry your .22 in your school?  Thank you so much for your love and encouragement this past week.  It was much needed.  You are the greatest mom in the whole world.  We should be having two baptisms coming up here pretty soon.  Maybe one this week and then another next or both on next week.  There are so many prepared people here on the VCU campus it is the best.  The miracle of the week would have to be with one of our investigators. When we first contacted her she wasn't that interested in learning about the gospel. We were finding with a member though and that member helped her understand the gospel from his perspective which really struck her. She decided to meet with us and came very prepared with gospel questions. That lessons was amazing!! She has progressed so much all because of her member friend. He texts her and sets up rides for her to be able to get to church. They sit by each other. It is so amazing to see how much a member effects the work of salvation. It's just a testament to me that every member is a missionary. This work can and will go forward faster and more effectively as members and missionaries come together.  This week has been such a blessing to being able to learn and grow and be able to come closer to my Savior Jesus Christ.  I know with all my heart that he lives and that he loves each and everyone of us.  I know that this Gopel has been restored by God and that it occurred through the Prophet Joseph Smith.  I know that this will bring the greatest happiness to anyone who will simple take into there lives the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I love my Savior with all my heart and I know that he is there.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you all so much and I hope that you have a great week.  You all are amazing and you mean so much to me.  With all my love from Virginia.

YAY!!!! how are you?
So I got transferred to Richmond on the VCU campus.  Another YSA ward!!!!!!  Today we are going to go to the holocaust museum.  It should be pretty sweet. 
I did not do that.

It sounds like you had an exciting week.  That is sweet that you will be able to go to Front Site.  That will be a really sweet experience for you.  That is also way cool about Arista.  She is an awesome missionary.  And good job on baring your testimony that is way sweet.  My question is where is Dad in all of this?   I don't think I can remember when the last time was that you got up to bare you testimony... What just saying.  This week was an exciting week for me as well.  I was transferred to down town Richmond.  This place is the hood.  My companion and I work on the VCU campus.  It's really sweet.  Probably one of the greatest experiences that I've had.  I was also called to be the Assistant to the President...  It's a super humbling experience and has me freaked out of my mind.  It's sweet though to be able to work on the YSA Campus.  We saw a lot of miracles this week. We were contacting and we met this really prepared young lady. We were able to set up an appointment with her at the Grace St building. When we started teaching her she told us that she had a lot of questions about the church. We were expecting the weird questions but all of her questions were spot on!!! Her first one was, "What happens to us after we die?" We were able to have a great lesson about the Plan of Salvation and it was the best. The spirit was so strong and she accepted a baptismal date. Everyone in this world NEEDS the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is the way that we can find happiness and peace in this world and in the world to come. I know with all my heart that He lives and loves each and everyone of us. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he restored Gods church here to this earth. I love my Savior and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  It is such a blessing to be in the service of God on a daily basis.  I love it so much and you are able to see so many miracles that come because God loves all of his Children.  He is constantly look out for all of us and wants us all to be able to find peace and happiness in this life and in the life to come.  I love you all and hope that you have a great day and a great week.  If there is anything that I can do for you please let me know and I will try my best to do it.  I love you and have a great week!!!  With all my love from Virginia.

IT HAS SNOWED SO MUCH HERE THIS WEEK!!   Thank you so much for the e-mail that is a really good parable.  I'm not sure if that was a silent rip on me but it was really good.  That sounds like a lot of fun going to Logan again.  That is so much fun I remember when we went up there.  I hope all is going well.  Things are going great here in Woodbridge.  Guess who's getting transferred?  Yes I am getting moved I'm not sure where so I will have to tell you next week.  Thank you for your e-mail it's always so great to be able to hear from you!!!! This area should be having three baptisms next week.  A guy named Frank Mcdonley and two girls named Amani and Timia Hubbard.  We have been teaching this really prepared mother and daughter these last couple of weeks along with these two girls that are friends of a recent convert. Something that has been so amazing to watch is how the Atonement effects everyone in such a direct way. With the two girls they haven't had the best lives and are not doing the best things with their lives. As we have taught them for the past two weeks and helped them prepare for their baptism next week we have literally seen a change in them that is indescribable. With the Mother and the daughter it was so amazing. Yesterday we got permission from out Bishop to be able to do the Sacrament. Paul Batista had a great idea of taking our investigators for a tour and then latter blessing the sacrament for them in the church. It was such a powerful experience. The spirit was so strong and you can see the mother finding new light in her life. I love this work so much it is so amazing.   I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored here on this earth. I know that it is only through the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can receive happiness in this life and peace in this life and in the life to come. Happy Presidents Day!

Hey I'm on.
Hey I'm back

This week was a great week.  It was so good to hear from you.  It sounds like you had a really great week.  I did get the Walmart and the Olive Garden gift card.  I have used the Walmart one so thank you so much for that!  Elder Holloway and I have yet to use the Olive Garden one.  Transfers won't be tell next week, we get calls this coming Saturday and then we will depart that Tuesday.  That was such a funny story about Brother Butler.  That man is my hero.  There are so many great things that you learn on you mission.  It is such a blessing to be on a mission.  You constantly have the opportunity to be an answer to peoples prayers even when they don't know it.  The greatest miracle that happened this week was with a lady and her daughter. We had met the daughter many times in the complex we work in. She was always willing to listen to us so just to be safe we would have her go get her mom but her mom would never listen, she wouldn't let her daughter listen either. One night Elder Holloway and I are in the neighborhood and we decide to go and knock on the door again. The mom answers the door but instead of slamming the door she says come back tomorrow at 4. We go back and teach her and she loves it. A couple days later we go back again for another appointment and she had read the chapter we had left and wanted to learn more. She is now progressing towards a baptismal date of March 7th. It is so amazing to be able to see how the Lord works miracles in peoples lives and we as missionaries get to be a part of it. I love my calling as a missionary it is the greatest thing to be able to wake up every morning and put the white shirt and the black name tag and go teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all you truly need in this life and it is so essential to our eternal perfection. I know that these five simple principles if lived correctly will transform anyone's life. I know that we teach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet that God called to restore this Gospel. I know these things to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  My studies this week have been really great.  One of the greatest decisions of my life was to begin reading the bible from the beginning.  There is so many great and interesting things that you can learn about our Heavenly Fathers plan from the Old testament.  One of the greatest truths that I have learned this week is the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  When you think about it the five simple principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ were what the Lord needed to Restore in this dispensation along with the Priesthood.  Which one came first though?  It was the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  If we has Gods children do not have gospel of Jesus Christ it is impossible to even come close to becoming like our Heavenly Father.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most essential principle and ordinance that have been practiced all through out time.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ will bring the highest blessings of the heaven into our life. I invite you to gain a stronger testimony of these essential principles.  I love you so much and thank you so much for all that you have done for me.  I couldn't do the things I do with out a supportive family.  I love you so much and thank you so much.  Have a great week.

Ok I still didn't get it
yes I am still here.

Well it sounds like you had a wonderful week.  Last week I didn't want you to think that I was mad or that my life is harder because it's definitely not.  You have three boys and all the other things like work and stuff like that.  The only thing that I have to worry about is teaching people the gospel, it really is the best thing in the whole world.  I think what I will be doing is just going to UVU for a semester and them applying to ROTC latter.  It sounds like it's going to be a process and is going to take a lot of work from what members have told me out here.  That sounds nice with the weather.  Over here it's been pretty cold most of the days, but yesterday was so amazing!!! It was so nice!  But yeah...

So this week was a huge blessing and there were so many miracles here in the Quantico Area.  One miracle we really cool.  So one day Elder Holloway and I were just going around tracting and trying to follow up with investigators.  Everything was dead there was no one out and no one wanted to talk.  We finally are just like, "ok where does God need us to be?"  We got in the car and started driving and Elder Holloway says lets go over to this area that hasn't been worked that much.  We go ever there and start tracting.  As we are doing this a guy gets out of his car and Elder Holloway yells to him and asks him if he wants to hear a message about Christ.  He walks over to us and starts talking to us.  We find out that this guy is an assistant Pastor at a Church.  Right then we were ready to Rip on the bible but something told us to not do that, to just hear the guy out.  So we do and come to find out this guy is a man of faith.  Just has faith out of his mind and really knows how to follow the promptings of God.  We end up teaching this guy the Restoration and at the end of it all he says, "Just a few weeks ago I was asking my Pastor why there are so many different Church in the area and why we don't just consolidate."  I know that listening is such an important part of Missionary work as it is discipleship.  It was so amazing to be able to see this lesson that we thought was going to be a bash session to being a teaching opportunity that brought this man closer to the truth.  There are so many more miracles that happened this week that I wish I could tell you but I don't have time.  Know that I love you.   I know with all my heart that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored and that it is the only way that we can come back into the presence of our Father.  I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he was the prophet of the Restoration.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you so much and hope you have a great week.  With all my love from Virginia.

Well it sound like you had a pretty eventful week this week.  I'm sorry that the struggles of life are getting to you.  The best thing that I can tell you is keep your head up and keep trudging away.  There are so many times while I am out here on my mission that are hard.  You see people that don't wan't to be baptized or that don't understand the importance of the message that you are saying so they shut the door.  They just don't understand they don't see eye to eye.  It's a fact of this world we came into this world understanding agency understand that we would all have our own thoughts our own bias and that things would get tough but we did it anyway.  It was the only way that we could become like our Heavenly Father.   This is the only way that we can sacrifice the self centered natural man and seek the Lords will.  How to do that?  I do not know.  It's something that I am trying to work on every day out here on my mission.  Every day we must find truth we must take the Holy Spirit as our guide and do the best that we can and when we stumble and fall we've got to learn to pick ourselves back up and no longer focus on ourselves that's why Peter began to sink in Mat 14 it's because he no longer focused on Christ but he focused on himself.  I know that our Savior loves us and that he is eager to help us out, he understands that we are imperfect all he asks us is that we are perfect at trying to be the best that we can be.  Don't worry mom everything will work its self out I know that.  Look back on what our Family has been through in the past.  We have been through a lot together and the one line that you always said is, "I will not let Satan win this one."  We can't let him win anyone.  We must act and do all we can so what if we fall.  Get back up and keep fighting.  I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and I know that even when it seems that we have no way to turn or no one to help us there is always a way and there is always someone.  He LIVES he is alive in each and everyone of our lives if we will just let him.  He will change us and help us to become who we need to become.  True faith in Jesus Christ begins when we let go of the outcome and say, "I don't care what I have to go through but I will do anything the Father needs me to do."  The plan of the gospel is for us to loose to the Fathers will so that we can win in Eternity.  It is only the will of God that will bring true happiness.  I know those things to be true.  I love you and I know that he knows you and he knows your concerns.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I did get those shoes thank you so much.  They are working great!  Sorry that I'm a little ditsy sometimes next time I won't be that way.  This week was a great week of missionary work.  We met a really sweet guy he's from Searleon Africa.  We were walking out of this apartment complex after getting turned down by everyone and we saw a guy walking.  I yelled to him and asked him if he wanted to hear a message about Christ and his restored gospel.  He turned around and said sure.  We walked with him to the store he got what he needed and then we went back to his house and taught him about the Restoration.  He's a muslem but he said that if God told him to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized that he would.  God is always placing prepared people in our path it is amazing.  I know this work is the work of God and that he is active in our lives and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.  I love you and hope that you have a great week.  I know that our Father in Heaven is watching over you.  Don't worry and be happy.  With all my love from Virginia.
